Will My Partner Enjoy This Holiday Too?
It is one of the most common questions we hear.
Many bookings begin with one person discovering the idea of a kiteboarding or wing foiling catamaran holiday and immediately thinking:
“I know I would absolutely love this…”
“…but will my partner enjoy it too?”
It is a completely fair question.
No one wants a holiday where one person has the time of their life while the other spends the week waiting for them.
The good news is that this type of holiday allows the two of you to enjoy the same week in different ways, while still sharing the experience together.
A Holiday You Experience Together
The biggest misconception is that one person disappears to kite or wing foil all day while the other is left alone.
That is rarely how the week feels.
Because the boat remains close to the action, the day naturally brings the two of you back together.
You begin with breakfast and coffee on deck.
One of you may head onto the water while the other enjoys a swim, snorkels, paddleboards, reads, takes photos, relaxes in the shade, or simply enjoys the view.
Before long, you are together again for lunch or a break.
Later, you might both explore a village, go for a swim, enjoy a quiet anchorage, or sit together with a drink while the sun begins to set.
You do not need to spend every minute doing the same thing to feel as though you are sharing the holiday.

You Do Not Need to Enjoy Exactly the Same Activities
One of the greatest strengths of this type of holiday is that both people can enjoy the day in their own way without feeling separated.
One person may want to kite or wing foil as much as possible.
The other may prefer swimming, snorkelling, paddleboarding, reading, exploring villages, taking photographs, or simply relaxing on board.
Both can have a full and enjoyable day without either person feeling that they are compromising their holiday.
The catamaran remains your shared base throughout the day.
You do not have to spend every minute together…
…to spend the entire holiday together.
The Sea Is Always Right Outside
One of the biggest differences compared with a hotel is that you are already where the holiday is happening.
There is no need to organise a separate trip to the beach or plan every activity in advance.
Feel like swimming?
Jump in.
Want to paddleboard for twenty minutes?
Take a board.
Fancy a quick snorkel before lunch?
Put on a mask and go.
Prefer to sit with a coffee and watch your partner ride?
Find a comfortable place on deck and enjoy the view.
The freedom to decide in the moment is one of the things many guests value most.

Time Together Without the Usual Holiday Work
On many holidays, even relaxing takes planning.
You still need to decide where to go, how to get there, where to eat, what to carry, and who will organise everything.
On board, much of that daily work is handled for you.
The crew takes care of sailing, anchoring, meals, planning, and many of the practical details that normally take up time and energy.
That gives the two of you more space to actually enjoy the holiday together.
One person can ride while the other relaxes, and neither has to spend the day worrying about transport, shopping, cooking, or cleaning up afterwards.
At the end of the day, you are not meeting again tired in a hotel room after doing separate things.
You are already together, sharing the same place, the same sunset, and the same stories from the day.
The Best Memories Often Happen Between Sessions
Most people first become interested in this holiday because of the kiteboarding or wing foiling.
But the moments couples remember most are often the ones that happen around the sport.
- Coffee together before anyone else is awake.
- A swim before breakfast.
- Lunch at anchor after a morning session.
- Discovering a small harbour or village together.
- Watching dolphins from the bow.
- Looking through photos or drone footage at the end of the day.
- Sharing a cold beer or rum punch after an exhausting session.
- Watching the sunset from the flybridge.
- Using a phone app to identify constellations above the mast at night.
Those are the moments both people share, regardless of who spent more time riding.

Different Riding Levels Are Not a Problem
Many couples do not have the same riding level.
One may be more experienced, while the other is learning.
One may kite while the other prefers wing foiling.
One may want long sessions, while the other prefers a shorter session followed by a swim and a quiet afternoon.
That does not mean the holiday needs to suit only one person.
The flexibility of the boat allows each person to enjoy the day at their own pace.
The shared experience is not based on doing exactly the same thing at exactly the same time.
It comes from being part of the same journey.
What If One Partner Does Not Kite or Wing Foil?
A non-riding partner does not need to spend the week waiting on the beach.
They can enjoy the boat, the water, the scenery, the food, the villages, and the slower rhythm of the day in their own way.
They may swim, snorkel, paddleboard, read, take photos, explore ashore, relax on deck, or simply enjoy having very little to organise.
They may also enjoy watching the riding from the catamaran or dinghy, especially when the group is at an uncrowded and beautiful location.
The key difference is that the non-rider remains part of the holiday rather than being left behind while everyone else goes somewhere else for the day.
You Will Probably Take Home Better Photos and Videos
Another unexpected advantage is how naturally the week creates opportunities to capture the experience.
While one partner is riding, the other may take photographs or videos from the catamaran or dinghy.
When conditions allow, we also use a drone to capture the scenery, the boat, and the riders from above.
Instead of interrupting the session to organise the perfect shot, you can enjoy the moment while someone else often captures it for you.
Later, you may see a photo or drone clip that shows the entire setting: the turquoise water, the catamaran at anchor, the island behind you, and the moment you were completely focused on riding.
Those images often become some of the most meaningful souvenirs from the week.

So, Will My Partner Enjoy This Holiday Too?
Only the two of you know what kind of holiday you truly enjoy.
But if you like the idea of combining adventure, relaxation, beautiful scenery, good food, time on the water, and meaningful time together, there is a very good chance this style of holiday will work for both of you.
You do not need to love exactly the same activities.
You only need to enjoy sharing the experience.
The best kiteboarding and wing foiling holidays are not only about the wind.
They are about the memories the two of you create together between the sessions.
